Reflection
When we went to Los Angeles, I expected for us to get a place to live at least. We haven't found anything yet, and I was dissappointed in looking at the LA Times and only finding 3 listings for a place to live. I look online and there are something like 400, BUT you have to pay $$ for the ability to look at the addresses to the properties. WTF, over!!!!!!!!!!! Since when should you have to pay just to look at places that you would like to rent.
The only good hit we got was from a friend that might be moving out of their place by the time that we will be there. And their moving depends on another place that we know of opening up (that I would rather have in the first place). I know that the real estate business is now all a total crock of shit in LA, but this is totally rediculous. How many other ways will the real estate community figure out how to fiscally rape a person, we already will have to pay 1st, last, security deposit, and pet fees - all of which I find reasonable but I think that this has totally taken the cake.
On the job hunting - I have not gotten a response from the job interview that I had at my friend's school. I hope that this is a good thing... I am just very nervous and anxious to know if I will have to prostitute myself out once we get there, without a place to live... I hate looking for a place to live, and a job at the same time...
By the way, does anyone out there know of a place that is coming up for rent in the Pasadena area of California? 2 adults + 1 medium dog are looking for 1000+ ft^2 place with washer/dryer.
